The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 notification this week on its official website. NEET 2021 notification is not only expected to have the new exam date but the application process is also likely to begin with its release. The medical entrance exam that was scheduled to be held on August 1 has been postponed due to the Covid-19 situation.

The application forms are usually released 60 days prior to the exams, however, it has been delayed this year. Once the application forms are released, students will require scanned copies of their class 10 and 12 pass certificates along with a passport size photograph and signature.

Aspirants of the medical entrance exam have been demanding clarity concerning the exam dates following the government’s announcement of the JEE Main dates for the pending third and fourth sessions of the exam. Last year, the medical entrance was conducted in September. Students have demanded that the exams be postponed to September this year as well.

Last week, the NTA had stated that it will release the notification “soon” and is finalizing the dates for the exams. At least 14 lakh students register every year for NEET.

The NEET is conducted for admissions to the medical undergraduate courses in the country and is a one-day exam. The syllabus of NEET will be the same as last year, former education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had said. However, the number of questions is expected to increase to offer internal choice to students this year, as per the Education Ministry.
