Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Helper to join our book shop team. Helper Needed for Book Shop As a Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our daily operations and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. This position requires a proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to assist in various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

Assist customers in finding books, providing recommendations, and answering their inquiries.
Maintain a neat and organized sales floor by shelving books, arranging displays, and tidying up the store.

Receive incoming merchandise, unpack boxes, and ensure proper labeling and placement of new books.
Assist in inventory management, including conducting stock counts and assisting with periodic audits.
Help with online order fulfillment, packaging books, and ensuring timely shipping.

Collaborate with the team to implement promotional activities, such as book signings or special discounts.

Perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling appointments.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the shop, including dusting shelves, vacuuming, and organizing storage areas.
Aid in the setup and takedown of events or book fairs held within or outside the shop.
Stay updated with the latest book releases, popular authors, and industry trends to provide informed assistance to customers.
Adhere to all safety and security procedures to ensure the well-being of staff and customers.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
Basic math skills and proficiency in operating a cash register or POS system.
